K-9 school drug sweep yields no arrests, no illegal substancesA drug sweep of the high school, and Wareham Cooperative School by 14 police K-9s from throughout the area Tuesday turned up no arrests and no illegal substances.
Five indications of illegal drugs were logged, which could mean a scent of an illegal substance was detected or an amount was detected too negligible to warrant police action.
Acting Police Chief Kevin Walsh said the search was conducted with full School Dept. cooperation, and the results were positive.
Were very pleased, he said.

(304 posts)It's gotten better under Obama but I saw the slow rise of it during the Bush years and these are the consequences of it. Hopefully we can fix our legal system from crap like this happening.

(16,161 posts)it was just a low crime day so there was no reason to not search an entire high school for some pot.
The chief probably meant he was very pleased everyone was cowed into submission. Maybe the chief should get his drug dogs and
druggie police to search the school department members homes. Good for goose, good for gander, I say.

(10,274 posts)On Thursday morning, February 17, 2011, the Wareham Police Department continued Operation Safe Streets with a search for illegal drugs at Wareham High School. At 9:30 a.m., Wareham High School Principal Scott Palladino instructed school staff to secure the students at which time Wareham school officials, Wareham police officers and sixteen K9 units from around the state began a search that also included the Wareham Cooperative School and the adjacent parking lots.
In all, eleven students were issued Wareham town bylaw citations for possession of one ounce or less of marijuana. Parents of the students were notified about the $100 citation and their legal responsibilities.
The search ended around 10:45 a.m. and all students were cooperative, according the Wareham police.

When the search was over and the cops left I went to my locker to see the dog had bitten two sizeable holes in my sweater and I had to donate it to goodwill...
