CBS Apologizes for Benghazi Report (apologizes for their lies, IMHO)

The correspondent for the disputed “60 Minutes'’ segment about the attack on the United States Special Mission in Benghazi, Libya, last year apologized on the air Friday morning, saying it was a “mistake'’ to put on a security officer whose credibility has since been undermined by his diverging accounts of his actions that night.

The correspondent, Lara Logan, said on “CBS This Morning'’ that the news division was misled by the officer, adding, “We will apologize to our viewers, and we will correct the record on our broadcast on Sunday night.”

The apology followed disclosure by The New York Times on Thursday evening that the security contractor, Dylan Davies, had provided the F.B.I. an account that contradicted a version of events he provided in a recently published book and in the interview with “60 Minutes,” which was broadcast on Oct. 27.

Mr. Davies told the F.B.I. that he was not on the scene until the morning after the attack.

I doubt this will change much as whoever is in charge now will still go forward with his/her attempt to keep turning CBS right.

Pound the lie, once the lie is implanted it becomes norm and no contradictory information will remove the lie

Or does that only apply to people who dare question the godliness of Republicans?

Isn't THAT a failure of leadership of the person who runs CBS? Or is that yet another reason to have Obama impeached?

Did anybody get fired for misleading the public with the tales of how Pat Tillman died? Of the "firefight" that Jessica Lynch ensued after her hummer got disabled, or all the "torture" she faced in the hospital?

12. How many minutes of prime time did they advertise and air this con job?

Until they spend the same time and aim at the same audience where they lied, they're not apologizing.

Air an equal segment on Sunday, CBS, or you're just blowing wind at the crowd that didn't hear the lies.

Go lick the Koch brothers' boots again, they'll pat you on the head, I'm not listening!

They spend how long in prime time spreading disinformation and then go on to publish the guys book of lies and, to make up for it, they give an apology during a morning show on a FRIDAY?
Corporatocracy has no shame.

16. This happened with Bush Administration - they lied to everyone except the FBI

This same type of situation happened during some of the Bush Administration. Cheney and his buddies lied to the public and everyone else - but as long as they told the truth to the FBI, they couldn't be prosecuted for lying.
