Incognito investigated for molestation

Recently suspended offensive lineman Richie Incognito was investigated last year for harassing a volunteer at the Miami Dolphins' annual golf tournament by allegedly molesting her with a golf club, according to Aventura, Fla., police.

The original police report states that the alleged incident happened at the Turnberry Resort & Club in Aventura, but no charges were filed against Incognito.

The 34-year-old volunteer told police Incognito had been drinking and was "acting very inappropriate towards her," and that she went to police after Incognito said he wouldn't apologize.

The report states that the volunteer told police that Incognito "used his golf club to touch her by rubbing it up against her vagina, then up her stomach then to her chest. He then used the club to knock a pair of sunglasses off the top of her head.

She stated that earlier this date, she was a volunteer for the Miami Dolphins
Organization as a hole monitor, for the annual "Fins Weekend Golf Tournament," which was held at the Turnberry Resort and Hotel. While performing her duties, she was approached by one of the Dolphins players Richie Incognito. According to her, Mr. Incognito had been drinking and was acting very inappropriate towards her. Ms.redacted states that Mr. Incognito used his golf club to touch her by rubbing it up against her vagina, then up her stomach then to her chest. He then used the club to knock a pair of sunglasses off the top of her head. After that, he proceeded to lean up against her buttocks with his private parts as if dancing, saying "Let it rain, Let it Rain!" He finally finished his inappropriate behavior by emptying bottled water in her face.

I'm pretty disappointed and very confused about the whole situation in Miami. I think there's something really deep and very personal going on there. I really want Incognito gone yesterday. But I also don't need **** from the self-appointed "moral arbiters" of professional sports in New England which I get a lot of in person on a daily basis living in RI.

A violent sport that epitomizes violence. Yes, skills are important but the public loves a good hard hit.

The NFL players interviewed were honest when they said, that behavior was part of the culture. It's behavior that is trained into the players starting at a young age. "I get to bully you and if you object, then you arent a man." And when these overly revered sports players gang up on someone and rape and/or brutalize them, the community comes together to protect them. Many Americans wont admit to loving the bullying but they clearly do. They spend millions and millions to build stadiums to worship the players that admit they have a culture of bullying.

Jay Glazer's Interview with Richie Incognito was Sports Journalism at its Worst
Dave Zirin on November 10, 2013 - 10:09 PM ET

The Richie Incognito, Jonathan Martin NFL bullying/harassment mess has somehow spawned the most important conversation about the toxic intersection of racism and “manhood” in years. That is why it was so distressing to see Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer land the first interview with Richie Incognito since this story broke, which aired during Fox's NFL Sunday pregame show. Glazer was very open about the fact that he is both friends and business partners with Incognito, although it begged a question that went stunningly unasked: what the hell is any journalist doing in an economic partnership with anyone they are supposed to be covering and why is this acceptable to Glazer's bosses?

But that question was quickly forgotten in the sulphuric fumes of what followed. To say that this interview was a cheap exercise in public relations would be to insult the people who do very good work in the world of public relations. The interview was edited with the subtlety of a Breitbart video and Jay Glazer threw more softballs than the cumulative careers of Lisa Fernandez and Jennie Finch.

The day before, Jay Glazer took to his Twitter page to announce the interview and boast, "I held nothing back, asked him everything.” Is this even remotely true? The best answer to that is to talk about all the questions that went unasked. Richie incognito was not asked by Glazer whether or not he was ordered by coaches to bully Jonathan Martin. That was deemed off limits by Incognito’s legal team, although it boggles the mind that anyone with an ounce of journalistic responsibility to the story would not have tried to think of creative ways to ask the question. (“Have you ever heard of coaches ordering players to bully other players?”)

Glazer also did not ask Richie incognito about accusations of sexual assault made against him last summer. He did not ask Richie Incognito who on the Dolphins sent the text threatening to gang-rape Jonathan Martin sister. He also did not press Richie Incognito on his reported rampant use of “the n-word” in the locker room, a use well beyond the occasional voicemail...
