Another health insurance shocker

Just received updated insurance info for spouse. We have individual privately-purchased plans.

Coverages unchanged. Good. It's a pretty good plan overall. Not great. But not bad.

Premiums increased only about 7%. Good.

In-network deductible increased from $3,750 to $7,500. Not so good.

Out of network deductible increased from $4,750 to $16,000. Really not good.

You can be damn sure we're switching to plans under the ACA. Now, in addition to the savings of about $7,000 a year in premiums, we'll have lower deductibles.

I haven't received my updated policy info. It'll be interesting to see if there are equally dramatic changes.
