These are among my favorite features of baroque churches.

There was a lively trade in Rome pulling remains out of the catacombs, deeming them to be "Christian martyrs" and selling them to churches in need of relics.

Pretty funny IMO, and a huge waste of money.

If someone isn't charging admission to gawk at that oddity, something is very seriously wrong.
