Incognito says his actions "were coming from a place of love"

Richie Incognito claims Jonathan Martin threatened to ‘murder (my) whole f------ family’
'This isn’t an issue about bullying,' Incognito says about the controversy involving teammate Jonathan Martin. 'This is an issue of my and Jon’s relationship.'
By Gary Myers / NEW YORK DAILY NEWS

Suspended guard Richie Incognito, accused of bullying Jonathan Martin right off the team, claimed Sunday he was Martin's best friend on the Dolphins, that he had no idea his friend had a problem with how he was treated and that his actions "were coming from a place of love."

He also said they had a way of communicating that allowed for threats not to be taken seriously.

"People don't know how Jon and I communicate to one another," Incognito said in an interview on Fox. "For instance, a week before this went down, Jonathan Martin texted me on my phone, "I will murder your whole f------ family." Now did I think Jonathan Martin was going to murder my family. Not one bit.

"He texted me. I didn't think he was going to murder my family. I knew it was coming from a brother, I knew it was coming from a friend, I knew it was coming from a teammate. That just puts in context how we communicate with one another."

If you took some of our texts at face value and out of context, it would make this look like Romper Room...

Incognito needs to show us these texts that he alleges Martin sent, if they are real he should have no problem producing them. If he can't produce him then I look forward to seeing Martin sue this asshole for everything he has.

I don't want anyone to take this the wrong way but could there be a romantic entanglement of some sort going on?

2. Despite training he appeared really insincere to me. But then again I thought John Edwards always was a phony - yet others believed every word.

3. It is interesting how his teammates of all colors are standing up for Incognito.

4. I also have sent some very, very good friends horrible texts. Including racial slurs. And they also say horrible things to me. In the end I find it amusing that some people get so, so shocked over a few words. That said...

5. Everyone involved in this story is going to lose their job. Martin because his teammates think he can't take a joke. Incognito because he is an obvious jerk. The coach for letting this shit go on. The general manager for drafting Martin and hiring Incognito.

Jesus Christ, Incognito doesn't actually think anyone's gonna buy this shit, does he?
