Kevin Blackistone Draws Heat for ‘Star-Spangled Banner’ Comment

An alert FrontBurnervian points us to a dustup caused by former Morning News columnist and ESPN analyst Kevin Blackistone. On a “Buy or Sell” segment of Around the Horn, he said he would sell Northwestern’s American flag uniforms and then added:

“I’m going to sell it for the same reasons. If you sell this along with me, you should also be selling the rest of the military symbolism embrace of sports. Whether it’s the singing of a war anthem to open every game. Whether it’s going to get a hotdog and being able to sign up for the Army at the same time. Whether it’s the NFL’s embrace of the mythology of the Pat Tillman story. It has been going on in sports since the first national anthem was played in the World Series back in 1917. And it’s time for people to back away.”

Blackistone is clearly a Communist who hates freedom and bald eagles.

(This blog sources Breitbart.com's "Big Journalism" blog. Thou shalt not dare criticize the US flag or national anthem, say right wingers. Hmm, where have else have I seen such thought?)

as a tool to divide, conquer and control the American People's spirit of freedom and democracy.

With Brietbart, the flag and anthem are nothing but a psychological props to brainwash the people.

Thanks for the thread, alp.

The question is, who is backing the enterprise? Koch, Walton, Adelson? They gain much from Andy's propaganda.
