2. I voted sparingly and would add that in addition to only the most heinous crimes

there be a burden of proof created even harder to overcome than reasonable doubt.

3. Everything about the death penalty is unfair

It is disproportionately applied towards minorities.
It is disproportionately applied towards the poor.
Results can never be reversed should innocence be found at a later date.
It costs way more to execute someone than for them to die of old age in prison of natural causes.

4. Abolish, no exceptions. IMO, the decision to apply the DP has far less to do

with the character of the crime, and everything to do with the character of the society...

5. Many that live deserve death. And some that die deserve life.

Can you give it to them? Then do not be too eager to deal out death in judgement. For even the very wise cannot see all ends.

I will also ad that as long as there is even a slight chance that an innocent person will be executed then the death penalty is can never be justice.
