It is disproportionately applied towards minorities.
It is disproportionately applied towards the poor.
Results can never be reversed should innocence be found at a later date.
It costs way more to execute someone than for them to die of old age in prison of natural causes.

Look around at the other countries that still use the death penalty. Do you really want to be in that list?

Can you give it to them? Then do not be too eager to deal out death in judgement. For even the very wise cannot see all ends.

I will also ad that as long as there is even a slight chance that an innocent person will be executed then the death penalty is can never be justice.
