I was maybe 4, my sister 3 ( 10 months younger catholic family). I think Poppa was a Democratic who really respected Eisenhower, so it was hard for him,2 small rambunctious verbal little girls who got poppa to do anything we asked....

When JFK campaigned in this area I was a Kennedy Girl like a lot of local high school girls were at the time. We were bused from the high school to the local city where he was speaking to add to the massive turnout that gathered on the main street to hear him. As JFK supporters my parents were thrilled. It's a day I'll never forget.
