Guess what "source" they used now.
Darrel Issa and his selective leaks from his committee.
CBS Returns To Using Dubious Sources In Attempt To Discredit ACA
CBS News, currently under fire for airing a dubious 60 Minutes report that relied on discredited source Dylan Davies, aired a report on the Affordable Care Act based entirely off selectively leaked partial transcripts from ACA opponent, Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA).
On the November 11 edition of CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley, correspondent Sharyl Attkisson reported on supposed "security risks" surrounding the law's exchange website, HealthCare.gov. Host Scott Pelley alleged that the project manager in charge of building the site "was apparently kept in the dark about serious failures in the website's security." Pelley speculated that this could eventually lead to "identity theft among people buying insurance.":
The basis for this report was a "partial transcript" obtained by CBS correspondent Attkisson and provided to her by House Oversight Chairman Rep. Issa.

But his sponsors care very much how many of us think it.
Same is true for CBS and any other for-profit media outlet. Their bean-counters know that if we are taking the time to write directly to them (even if an individual response means little), more of us are writing directly to their sponsors - their life blood and income.

I have to admit I've been watching RT News since MSNBC has only Ed and Rachel left - and Ed relegated to a poor time slot.

(285 posts)... circular logic bullsh*t that the Bushies used to do: person A fed lies to M$M, who dutifully reported on it, then person A used the report to prove that the lie was truth. Argh my brain hurts.

(2,574 posts)When Rather's story on Bush was basically true, just one faulty document. Logan's was entirely a lie, a pander, a rightwing fantasy from beginning to end.
It really has been Fox News light ever since then. Your list of rightwing CBSers is really accurate, with Crawford reporting/defending the most rightwing SCOTUS in history and Attkinson attacking Obama as WH correspondent at every opportunity. The most annoying of all is Pecs Pelley, maybe his lowpoint the crapaganda "expose" on Soc Sec Disability fraud just the week before Logan's ode to the Benghazi fetishists.
They're all terrible journalists, but I hope the Logan incident finally brings scrutiny of CBS's rightwing promoters up the hierarchy to the guy who's in charge of all of them. He is most responsible of all, should be defined for who he is, and left to work at a news organization which doesn't pretend objectivity.

(45,984 posts)Using Issa as a credible source of information is just beyond the pale. He may be one of the wealthiest men in Congress, but he's still second-rate political hack. There is no falsehood outrageous enough for him to concoct and use against the opposition. The people of his district should be embarrassed.
Why would a serious journalist even speak to Darrell Issa?

(26,619 posts)you'll have to be the "left" because fox has the right, but it's all good. You can be the softer side of the crazy, right wing GOP beast. All you have to do is lie and then say you made a mistake. Fox doesn't have to do that and you won't either, eventually.
I emailed the sons of bitches and I don't care if they read it or not of if they care or not.

(45,984 posts)I'm less concerned with handing Lara Logan her head right now than I am with putting the brass up against a wall in front of a firing squad. This is the second story out of CBS this week which served right wing interests and was dubiously sourced. CBS needs to get hold of the problem. A top-down corporation rots from the top down.
