Is damage from trans fats reversible?

I'm in my early 60's, live a relatively healthy life, but I'm sure in the years from 1960 to present, I consumed a lot of trans fats. Is the damage from trans fats reversible, or non-reversible? I exercise, eat lots of veggies, almost no meat, but that has just been the past six years.

1. I don't know if it is reversible, but keep what you are doing.

You can stop artery problems in their tracks, by living and eating right.

And avoid coconut, palm kernel and palm oils. Those are what food congolmerates are replacing trans-fats with.

I exercise every day, have a 90% vegetarian diet (the rest is fish, usually salmon), and drink red wine each day.

Coconut water, on the other hand, probably isn't the miracle beverage it portrays itself to be, but it isn't unhealthy.

I suppose you can get scans of your arteries and a good physical will let you know what's going on.

A lot of our health is genetic so you just might be lucky.

I had the same thought, even things that seemed to be okay were not. "Health" bars for one.

and usually my family dies from cancer, not heart disease. It just pisses me off that the FDA gave these food companies a loophole by allowing them to claim 0 Trans Fats if their product contained less than 1/2 gram of trans fat. Silly me, when I pick up a package of Jello pudding and it says zero trans fat, I take that at face value. Now I find out that is not the case, the puddings do contain hydrogenized fats.

"up to 2 grams of trans fat a day is okay". Not!

That said it's better we ate some transfat than smoked a pack a day, assuming you didn't!

My parents generation thought smoking was cool, then they learned about lung cancer..

I'd say that trans fat is more of a heart disease issue than cancer related.

[hr][font color="blue"][center]I'm always right. When I'm wrong I admit it.
So then I'm right about being wrong.
