Today, Biden, Kerry, and Wendy Sherman, who has led the Iranian negotiations, are all trying to get the Senate to not pass increased sanctions on Iran while there is hope for diplomacy.
There are many articles that have spoken of how Netanyahu is using Jewish lobbying groups, like AIPAC, to push these increased sanctions. In the past AIPAC has been very successful getting both Democrats and Republicans to follow their wishes. J Street, the liberal lobbying group is supporting President Obama with a petition. http://act.jstreet.org/sign/iran_negotiations/
From Jstreet's facebook page:
Signing that petition or calling your Senators at this time might show that most of use prefer that diplomacy gets a chance.
Here is a thread that speaks of where the Obama administration is - http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1014&pid=647094

(19,288 posts)I wasn't sure if posting this petition here was a good idea, but it seems that this is a way that we can support the administration in an effort that could avoid the war the neo cons have wanted for years.
Thank you!

(19,288 posts)I was reading a very good article that I had linked to from here and then I got closed out of it and couldn't find the original story. But it was about the original NSA leaker from back in the 70's. He was interviewed for a magazine article and now I can't remember his name, his pseudonym, or the damned magazine.
I wish I could find it again.
One of his points were the 5 eyes. He stated as a former NSA operative that these agencies, are entities unto themselves and really have no responsibility to the government or the American people. He named 5 other countries that cooperate together on a global agenda.
