Elizabeth Warren slams GOP attempts to block Obama's nominees and calls for filibuster changes

Harry's filibuster deals with the GOP have proven to be a joke. McConnell took those deals and shredded them. Perhaps it's time for him to step aside for Senate Majority Leader Elizabeth Warren?

Elizabeth Warren calls for filibuster changes
By BURGESS EVERETT | 11/13/13 12:23 PM EST

Elizabeth Warren has been in the Senate less than a year but she’s already seen enough to call for an end to the GOP’s ability to filibuster President Barack Obama’s nominees.

The Massachusetts Democrat took Republicans to task on Wednesday for blocking three nominees this year to the key D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals, calling it the next step in the GOP’s plan to “paralyze the government again” after a 16 day government shutdown. The GOP blocked the nomination of Nina Pillard on Tuesday — and the party is expected to stonewall another nominee next week.
“So far they have shut down the government, they have filibustered people [President Obama] has nominated to fill out his administration and they are now filibustering judges to block him from filling any of the vacancies with highly qualified people: We need to call out these filibusters for what they are: Naked attempts to nullify the results of the last election,” Warren said.

Warren cast the stakes as nothing less than the GOP using any avenue it can to preserve a conservative tilt in the judicial system. Warren said Republicans are watching the D.C. Circuit — which arbitrates disputes between the private sector and the government — and like what they see: A court that “seems to be finding more and more ways to help bail out the businesses that never wanted to be regulated in the first place.”

Just getting more name recognition, more people fired up, everyday. Sometimes two or three times a day.

would indicate that we're only about to first base in reining in Big Money. Now because she is so good at what she does and because there is no one but Hillary willing or able to slog through the political cesspool, the Left wants to take her out of her job. Anyone who thinks Elizabeth can do this from the Presidency even after three years...well, just isn't thinking or knowledgeable.

Imagine the cheers on Wall Street and the pumping up the Warren for 2016 Charge behind the scenes. After all this time, she is just starting to make real progress. So now, what, she goes out on the stump and does this via cell phone or something while raising money...from somewhere? She'd never get one more concession out of them. I have a feeling they'd pay big money to get rid of her. But if the Democrats can do that for them, what the heck.

She is not the only Senator calling out the GOP regarding their obstruction/blocks.

It's not like she came up with the idea on her own.

Senate republicans are making a mockery of majority rule and if they are allowed to continue, that is bad long term for the country.

Something needs to be done, but not until after 2014. Sorry that is all we need is for a change of rules and then the Republicans gain the Senate. The Democrats are having a huge meeting this week to discus ACA and see what they need to do to change. I guess some Dem Senators are scared as crap about the election.....three for sure....Landreu (sp?), Beigage (Alaska) and the Senator from Arkansas.

a year after being elected to the Senate for the first time. Sherrod Brown, who's serving his second term, might be able to swing it.
