Is it me? Or, does it seem like we are seeing this more and more, lately?

(15,001 posts)I just can't wrap my mind around it.
I can't, even with reasonable doubt, conclude much of anything about another human being in the very few minutes they might be next to me while they take my food and drink order. There's just not enough interaction, not enough time, to learn much of anything about a server beyond "are they pleasant?", and more importantly, "can they do their job"? And even there, I cut waitstaff a lot of slack, since I don't know everything going on for them at that moment.
Damn. I'd make a terrible bigot.
