Talking about Thomas Thistlewood - a must read diary. The most cruel book I've ever read.

(145,130 posts)Earlier this week, Jon Stewart had a panel including Keye and Peel vote on if various statements were racist. Initially, the panel thought that Palin was being racist but when they heard the full context of her comment they changed their vote to stupid

(4,713 posts)I saw that also. Did you see when they were talking about their conversation with Obama about Luther the anger translator, and Obama said he needs him something serious?

(53,339 posts)Our free stuff today is being paid for by taking money from our children and borrowing from China, she said at the Iowa Faith & Freedom Coalitions fall fundraiser at the State Fairgrounds Saturday night. When that money comes due and this isnt racist, but itll be like slavery when that note is due. We are going to beholden to the foreign master.
Sarah Palin invokes slavery, inappropriately of course

(22,271 posts)That helps a lot. That woman brings stupid to a whole new level.
Thanks again, pinboy.

(36,926 posts)Said what Thistlewood did to the slaves should be done to dumb as rocks Caribou Barbie! Wow, just wow! Of course this was said in the context of Palin stating that the U.S. debt was the same as slavery.

(36,926 posts)And I would too. We all went to the Caribbean in the summer and it was too hot. If we go to Jamaica, I think it should be in the winter. Is that the best time?

(268,930 posts)I'd say December to April for those who like cooler temperatures.

(6,151 posts)I certainly didn't mean to imply that SP's any more than half literate herself or that you're old - even if you are, that's no insult. But I am dim enough to have no idea what might've upset you. Please feel free to PM me if it's too touchy for public airing.

(6,151 posts)I'll definitely read it before long but will have to choose the time carefully if it's as bad as you say. I've studied those times and basically know what went on, but reading a slaveholder's diary itself would be a hard row for me to hoe. I'll do it, though.
