Lets make a new law about how the American Flag can be used, or at least manufactured. I'm thinking something like this...
Any item that has a representation of the American Flag, or previous versions (Including the Confederate Flag and varients), on it, and is intended to be sold in the US, must be made in the US.
Simple ja?
Democrats would agree to it I'd bet, brings back some jobs at least. Convicing Republicans and their crazy cousins the Tea Party would take some effort, but I don't think it would be to hard to do so. We'd just need to word things the right way - Imply that allowing our symbol to be created in other countries serves to weaken us.
We'd just need a name for the law. I was thinking the Flag Act, but we've already got that... Actually, since that law is about the design of the flag, we could add this as a amendment to it. Or something.

(3,003 posts)When it comes near vote, Democrats would have to word things right to make it sound like support of this law is supporting America.
I've been putting some thought to it, thought of a bit of speech for it, but still nothing concise.
What I've got is this -
Some people say that this law is unamerican, that is tramples on our capitalist origins. But I say that it is protecting the ideals, the values, and the memory of those who fought to create this country, and those who fought to protect it. It is not unamerican to want our symbol to be protected. It is not unamerican to want the symbol that which our forfathers fought to create, and which many of our grandfathers and great-grandfathers risked, and sometimes lost, their lives to protect. It is not unamerican to protect the symbol of america.
And thats all I got.

(22,668 posts)You're gonna have to word it in such a way that it says something to the affect that the rich will get richer, minorities and the middle class get screwed and there are some lavish golf outings in Ireland for all those who vote for it. Then and only then, will the GOP support it.
