Tornadoes Strike Several Illinois Towns

A massive severe weather outbreak in the Midwest has spawned up to 29 tornadoes across Illinois, according to preliminary reports from the Storm Prediction Center.


A tornado hit Pekin, Ill., around 11:30 a.m. CT, according to witnesses.


Devastation from Washington, IL. Please pray for those affected. Horrific images coming in.

Or at least it used to be until human caused warming and climate
change got worse.

My sympathies to all affected.

and really only rarely in the fall compared to spring.

I can't really remember many fall tornado sitches - but when I was looking for info, the weather folks said it's both seasons, so, okay.

I lost my electricity, but not for long.

on the local U. radio station, trackers reported winds at 80 mph just south of where I am.

it was AMAZING how quickly it moved from no rain to sprinkles to HAIL and high winds and a sheet of rain with little visibility.

I usually don't take cover in these things but this time I did.
