Fox and Friends was just rolling out their latest scare tactic talking about United Health "dropping thousands of doctors from its Medicare Advantage", when Hasselbeck says, and I shit you not, think about how many thousands of women who are expecting babies who will loose their doctors.
If anyone can capture this on the youtubes I can guarantee an instant hit.

(16,020 posts)I have only had one sip of coffee this morning and am foggy. My husband was one of the docs dropped from United. Almost all of his patients transferred to another mediadv. plan so they could stay with him. It is tough on the elders when they do stuff like this. They were calling the office in a panic and picking plans can be daunting.

Which is pretty amazing considering I call her "stupid cat"

(14,530 posts)The hesselbeck asked someone what time it was, and they told her it was 4:45. The hesselbeck, with a puzzled look on her face replied,
"You know, it's the weirdest thing, I have been asking that question all day, and each time I get a different answer."

(108 posts)She said that now people that are in hospice care will get preventative health care. There is a shining example of brilliance. I am just wondering is it too much to ask that our elected officials understand very very basic medical terms like preventative health care and what hospice is before they vote on and determine my use of such items?

(2,480 posts)My mom was on it for three months and made a miraculous recovery. It was the individualized care that helped pull her from the brink of death. They still check your blood, give you your medications etc.
My neighbor's father was on hospice for two years.

And how, exactly, are these legislators determining your use of medical procedures?
Liberal_Stalwart71
(20,450 posts)services treat people for "palliative care". That essentially means that it provides specialized treatment to PREVENT pain or to treat those suffering from pain. "Preventive health measures" in this case does not mean wellness programs; it means measures used to prevent pain or to treat pain for those in hospice care.

(14,530 posts)Here is what she actually said....
BLITZER: When you hear Dr. Ben Carson, a distinguished physician at Johns Hopkins University, well known surgeon, when he says that this is the worst legislation since slavery in the United States, what do you think?
JACKSON LEE: Well, Dr. Carson is a friend of mine. I have a great deal of respect for him. But obviously he has missed the historical legacy here in this country although we've overcome it, we interred the Japanese, we discriminated against the Chinese. There were Jim Crowe laws. It saddens me. Because millions of people are being saved, lives saved, people coming out of hospice now being able to have, if you will, preventative care.
Now, as you have heard people do come out of hospice care. Before the ACA, they were uninsuarable, now they can get health insurance.

(25,348 posts)1. Morning-after pill is the same thing as birthing a baby and leaving it out in the street!
2. Older lesbian women just couldnt get a man. Her theory on why lesbians come out later in life is that older men prefer young women, leaving older women with no one.
3. Stalking victims outfit was too slutty. Hasselbeck joked that Dancing With the Stars contestant Erin Andrews outfit was too skimpy for the stalking victim who was filmed nude in her hotel room.
4. Waterboarding isnt torture. Hasselbeck suggested that the military requires waterboarding and it was used effectively post-9/11 to gain intelligence information.
5. Feminists only burn their bras for liberals. In a debate over Rush Limbaughs misogynist attacks, Hasselbeck took issue with feminists who do not stand up for conservative women. However, in making her point, she invoked the bra-burning stereotype about feminists. The sisters that you speak of
my question for them is why they are so selective in their feminism, why arent they burning their bras when a conservative women is attacked, she said.
