47 people lost their lives 1 night (support Rep. Michael Michaud’s (D-ME) Safe Freight Act)
From email.
Following the recent horrific crash in Quebec of a freight rail train, which had been parked uphill by its lone crew member for the night, in which 47 people lost their lives, the Federal Railroad Administration asked rail companies to take specific precautions to prevent this from happening again.
But that just isnt enough. We need to mandate two-person crews (
http://www.ttd.org/press-releases/2013-press-releases/transportation-unions-call-for-federally-mandated-two-person-crews-on-freight-trains/) on U.S. freight trains., and the AFL-CIOs 32 transportation unions support this.
We support Rep. Michael Michauds (D-ME) Safe Freight Act, and we are hoping you can help to spread the word.
