http://worldnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2013/11/19/21534305-endless-afghanistan-us-afghan-agreement-would-keep-troops-in-place-and-funds-flowing-perhaps-indefinitelyThe wide-ranging document, still unsigned by the United States and Afghanistan, has the potential to commit thousands of American troops to Afghanistan and spend billions of U.S. taxpayer dollars.
The document outlines what appears to be the start of a new, open-ended military commitment in Afghanistan in the name of training and continuing to fight al-Qaeda. The war in Afghanistan doesnt seem to be ending, but renewed under new, scaled-down U.S.-Afghan terms.
I would be angry, but I'm just sad at this point.
They quit worrying about what we want long ago.

(511 posts)By the Tribal Elders starts tomorrow. I hope 2 things:
1. I hope they decide to end America's continued occupation of Afghanistan.
2. I hope their decision carries weight.
The Afghanis being bribed with American tax dollars won't go quietly into the night. And the financial bonanza that this decision means for the MIC is huge, and won't be easily released by our politician's masters.
This will be wrapped in the flag and placed under "Our Nation's Security" for American consumption.
How is it that more people don't see that we've become less secure as the spending and debt have gone up??
As well as cost us much of our personal liberty and freedoms?
