I doubt the Rob Ford story affects the Christie candidacy any, however...

it is a poor advertisement for the "abusive morbidly obese political figure with anger issues and no filter" archetype.

Asking someone how much crack they smoke is not the same as asking whether their children attend public school, but there is something about the Ford, "no self-control, abuse people until they love you" style that feels familiar.

There is a fine line between, "he articulates my rage," and, "he appears to be crazy."

In any event, I would recommend refering to Mayor Ford as The Canadian Chris Christie.
