New U.S.-Afghan security deal proposes American troops to remain in Afghanistan until 2024 and beyond
Up to 15,000 troops could stay in military bases in the war-torn nation to train Afghan security forces and conduct anti-terror missions
Will cost the taxpayer tens of billions

By James Nye

It is already America's longest war, but a new draft of a key U.S.- Afghan security deal reveals plans for military forces to stay on indefinitely in Afghanistan- costing the taxpayer tens of billions.

The wide ranging document, obtained by NBC News, outlines plans to stay on until 2024 'and beyond' - maintaining bases in Afghanistan and paying to support and train hundreds of thousands of Afghan security forces.

Afghan officials hope that up to 15,000 American troops will remain in the country after the scheduled 2014 withdrawl date as the United States faces a never-ending war against al-Qaeda and the Taliban in the war torn nation.

the administration here says 7 to 8,000 tops are likely.

Yet another one of those articles where the headline is designed to get your attention, and you don't really find out where it came from until the last paragraph or two.

Hey Obama, what happened to bringing the troops back? Did money suddenly start growing on trees? Are people able to pull it out of their butt? Or is that you don't give a grand crap and you're just going to let things " work themselves out "? More money, more money, more money, where's it all coming from and going there Barack? Get with the program and people who vote think about what your really voting for instead of being another sheep in the herd.

Afghans want 15,000 to stay.

Administration hasn't committed to anything, and is leaning toward less than half that.

Less American troops in Afghanistan than are in Japan. From 80,000 down to 7,000.

Nobody would say we're still "at war" in Germany or Japan, but there are more American troops in those places than will be in Afghanistan in 2014.

That's what the maps show. The bases are for isolating and containing Iran. That's why we need to keep troops in Afghanistan.

Or, so I surmise.
