Doctor used whips, choked female patient in 'punishment therapy,' deputies say
A Lake Worth doctor carried on a 'Fifty Shades of Grey' style relationship with a female patient after hours in his office using whips, blindfolds and other sadomasochistic acts in an unconventional bid to combat her depression, according to Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office reports.
Dr. David Simon wasn't arrested or charged criminally because the relationship was deemed to be consensual, Sheriff's Office reports stated.
But the doctor of osteopathy now faces the prospect of losing his license to practice in Florida, a member of the Florida Board of Osteopathic Medicine said.
The Florida Department of Health filed an administrative complaint against Simon in July, alleging inappropriate sexual conduct with a patient. Potential sanctions include permanent license revocation.

Permanent license revocation should be the least of this clown's punishment.

(73,630 posts)I hope that this so-called doctor loses his license.
This fool should know better than to cross his own kinks with his professional responsibilities.

(6,151 posts)But I must admit I can't fathom the attraction of that book either. Bondage isn't any kind of love at all, just sick people doing sick things to each other. Yeah, yeah, I've heard it said people like to be tied up because it releases them from responsibility and forces them to trust someone else. But I don't see anything positive or healthy about debasement of another human being.
