Guess what folks? Someone made a game about Sandy Hook!
An uproar of criticism has erupted following the release of a new online video game that allows players to re-enact the Sandy Hook Elementary School Massacre in Newtown, Conn.

Entitled “The Slaying Of Sandy Hook Elementary,” the game retraces the steps of gunman Adam Lanza, according to CBS Connecticut. It instructs players to “Shoot Mother” and “Get AR15 and clips,” before sending the silhouetted gunman into the school to open fire on teachers and first-graders, the Hartford Courant reported.

The game then switches to the school, where glass breaks as Lanza shoots his way into the school. Gamers are then given 10 minutes for Lanza to go into classrooms to shoot students and teachers. After the time is up, Lanza kills himself in the video game as a police arrive notice pops up on the screen, CBS Connecticut reported.
I can see the point that the person was trying to make, but really... How can anyone think a game like this would be a good idea?

As Lancero said, a shooting gallery game was released by the NRA a few weeks after Sandy Hook. The NRA game did not allow players to shoot representations of either people or animals, only targets.

Interestingly enough, this game was produced by a gun control advocate...

The Columbine game got quite a bit of media attention even though it was hardly played by anyone, these are not commercial video games, these are simple internet flash games that no one would play were it not for the controversy. It is honestly best to ignore something like this, these types of games are often made by teenagers rather than professional game studios. The people who are making it are just trying to stoke controversy to get people to play their game, no reason to give them more attention.
