Finally, someone on Morning Joe breaks away from the Chris Christie love fest

This morning Mike was gushing over Christie's appearance at the Republican Governor's Association meeting (moderated by who else...everyone's favorite rageaholic...Joe S. himself.).

The normal panel gush-job re: Christie started up and finally when discussing Christie's viability as the next GOP POTUS nominee Donny Deutsch spoke up and brought up what everyone else avoids talking about....Christie's pattern of being a bullying blowhard.

Donny went on to express his doubts that certain areas of the country are going to warm up to a guy who yells and bullies people (esp. women) who dare to ask him questions or challange his positions on issues.

Of course, Mika went on to defend Christie saying that what Donny saw as bullying others saw as just an example of Christie's passion for the issue.

Needless to say, topics were changed relatively quickly but at least there's one person on that show that doesn't buy into the Christie mythology.

The love fest for Christie on that show is nauseating. And Mika is off the wall about him. Totally irrational. The only reason I can come up with is that she doesn't want to be seen as prejudiced against overweight people, since she herself has had an eating disorder.

Donny's one of the few reasons I bother watching the show since his actual real job doesn't depend on him cozying up and making nice with the politicians they bring on. As such he's able to call them out on their BS and doesn't have to pretend they're still good or nice people when their policies are actually destructive to most Americans.

She fawns over him like a smitten schoolgirl. I am one of those who will be sitting back to watch the show. Christie's schtick might play in New Jersey, but his nasty demeanor and general hatred toward everyone who isn't a rich white guy will not play well beyond the Garden State Parkway.
