Noted, he voted against the filibuster change. But, he came back in and voted for the Appellant Court nominee. It appears he's trying to tiptoe through the RW nut/conservative mine field.

Levin's been a great senator but he's the product of another time when civility and the common good prevailed.

He's not wrong, just wrong for these times.

However, Joe Manchin of WV, Mary Landrieu of LA, and Kay Hagan of NC are about as liberal as you can get on a statewide basis in these places.

Of a previous generation, Fritz Hollings of SC, Sam Nunn of GA, and Howell Heflin of AL were not particularly liberal either, but they did the right thing and mostly voted the right way.

For example, in this year's NJ Senate primary, Rush Holt ran an ad pointing out that Cory Booker hadn't supported Glass-Steagall restoration and several other progressive goals. Booker nevertheless won by a big margin.

If DU, collectively, had been in charge of vetting the Democratic candidates, Booker would have been lucky to finish third. He's now a Senator because he won the primary.
