My sincere attempt to help Rush Limbaug
Dear Rush,
First I must say that I am a no-time listener, so obviously I've never called. But that shouldn't dissuade you from at least taking a moment to ponder my heartfelt advice. I've been reading about what you said equating rape with the so-called nuclear option and I think you might have misunderstood how this reform works. Now, as a fair minded, man of the people that you are all I ask is that you hear out my analogy.
I liken what happened to this:
Say, you have a really bad President that the majority wants to get rid of, he's not black, he's of Irish descent, we'll call him Barandon O'Bama that sounds pretty Irish. And of course he's white. Not that it matters since we all know you have no problems with 'The Blacks' as Donald Trump so eloquently put it.
Anyway, so you want to have elections to push out this white, non-black President who was born in a state that doesn't begin with the letter H and was never a Senator from a state that began with an I. You have 54% of the public behind you, but sadly, you need 60% of the public to give the okay for a vote, but Barandon O'Bama, the white, non-black former senator from a state other than Illinois and his people are preventing you from having this vote - even though you have between 54-59% of the voting public behind you.
And you've tried working with these shifty, criminal types who are denying the public their right to vote on this important issue. Yes, that Barandon O'Bama is a shifty one -- just not black. But we know it wouldn't matter because you have no problems with black people or mixed race people because Halfrican was not meant as an insult.
You've had dinner with them, included some of their ideas in important work you've been involved in, you've even avoided shunning them on issues (even when you didn't need them) in an attempt to try and reason with them. But, no, they're being uncooperative. They won't even let you have the right to vote on whether to keep Barandon O'Bama president.
As a fair minded man who doesn't resort to racism or racist comments to support his position, I hope this analogy gives you a better understanding of what the nuclear option was about. It wasn't about rape, it was about letting the majority of the senate vote on important issues to prevent our country from imploding
