Is Israel playing bad cop to U.S. good cop?

I know this sounds out there, but maybe, just maybe a behind the scenes agreement was struck between our two countries, designed to keep Iran on its toes, and arrive at a peaceful end to the sanctions.

They both seem to go out of their way to show it.

If it were an act, Bibi wouldn't have been campaigning for Romney. That's the action of a mortal political enemy.

Since then, we've openly thumbed our noses at Netanyahu and so has most of the world.

Israel wants to be the sole regional power, and right now, that means shooting Iran in the face. Thing is, Israel isn't strong enough to do the shooting itself - It can't extend military power that far, and what little force it could bring to bear wouldn't do much for that goal - and would be responded to immediately by Iran's allies in Syria and Lebanon. So Israel's been trying to pressure the US into going ot war against Iran, and has been doing so since 2002.

The reality is just that out of all the countries involved in this, it's just Israel and saudi Arabia going batshit crazy. The US has opened diplomacy, the iranians negotiated in good faith, Europeand China were on board, and Israel and Saudi Arabia were screaming about the awfulness of a peaceful resolution.
