In general terms, how do you feel about the Iran nuke deal?

I will confess that I missed the announcement last night due to important ongoing developments in the Tennessee/Vandy game.

....if you ask me, I'd say our nuclear power plants, for all good reasons, should be eliminated from the face of this one watery blue ball in the dryness of space.

I am with Einstein who said something like the use of nuclear power with the same mode of thinking we humans have (WAR) will cause the end of what little f'n humanity we enjoy.

But it sure is nice to see humanity win this minor battle and us not go to war over it.

I feel this takes us a step in the right direction; toward lasting peace and away from war. How can this possibly be bad?

Depleting their enriched uranium is fantastic. And preventing enriched plutonium alternative is too. Without those ingredients the plants are worthless - as long as it's verified.

The next good thing is that verification has been agreed to. That means every day during the 6 months. That gives Iran very little opportunity to try to fool anyone. They know they're being watched by so many satellites and listened to by so many operations right now that they can't sneeze without everyone knowing.

Lastly, everyone going into Iran will be making contacts. If this doesn't work out in the end we will still have made valuable inroads into Iran. We will have made friends who want to avoid war. The Iranian people have always been more liberal and secular than their government. Many and probably a majority would like to return to a more secular way of life. And out of this diplomatic effort, a network will form - if the politicians themselves cannot succeed this time.
