No, they haven't said it yet, but this is the next step for the morons of the Tea Party. Limbaugh has already started calling him a "socialist," and the hue and cry from the pathetic wing of the Republican Party will soon reach a fevered pitch. A call for impeachment is certain, since the Tea Party folks have no idea what impeachment means, nor that it only applies to Presidents and federal judges in the United States.
Impeach the Pope, indeed, morans.
On edit: I'm already late with this. See this search:

So, are the people calling for impeachment going against the expressed will of God?

(355 posts)When I was growing up in the 70's I went to a very conservative Church of Christ (non-instrumental, women in complete silence - girls couldn't even talk in Sunday School), and Catholics were not considered Christian. Actually, to the CoC, no other groups were Christian but the Catholics were rock bottom. There would be discussions of whether or not the beast in Revelations was the pope. This anger they are whipping up against Pope Francis sickens me because I can very easily see those types of beliefs coming back into play.
So glad I got myself out of there.

(355 posts)anyway because my brother thinks the Tea Party people are wonderful and I had to listen to my mother try to white wash slavery by saying some of them were better off as slaves (this was in reference to the new movie that is out). I dread the holidays. I just really dread it and am not even going to the big family get together today.
My husband blames Fox News. My family has always been conservative but lately it's taken a sharp turn towards ugly.
Sorry to unload on you.

(113,259 posts)you have to miss "family time", but if that time involves hanging out with total idiots, glad you can pass it up.
I am lucky, will be spending the day with intelligent, thoughtful, caring, loving people, not one of whom is a biological family member.

(2,679 posts)Most of the baggers that don't like this Pope aren't even Catholic so why should they care. When it comes right down to it, baggers are basically this centuries versions of the kkk. These type of people don't like anything other then white, non-Catholic Christians, preferably male people. Oh there are times that they have tolerated the Catholics but mostly they have always pretty much hated Catholics with the same vigor as all people of color, women, and Jews.
Honestly I could care less what people like rush, palin and the talking tea-heads at fake news think about the Pope. I'm pretty sure the Pope isn't losing any sleep because rush doesn't like him. More then likely the Pope is praying for him. "God and Jesus please help the stupid in the USA, thanks Pope Francis."

(35,392 posts)like all those Catholics who breathed a sigh of relief when the pope said "you can eat meat on Fridays" ...
Or will they still love the power they get with the Repugs?

(64,931 posts)second link. He wrote at length about the policies of Pope Benedict XVI who was widely criticized (and rightly so) here on DU.
Mr. McElvaine appears to be no teabagger at all, but wanted Benedict replaced by someone far more liberal. Interesting read. I may have to check out his book: "Grand Theft Jesus: The Hijacking of Religion in America" (Crown).
Thanks for the link!!
