What the hell is wrong with people?

Shopping frenzies resulting in brawls. I mean, my God, what have we become? Its a hideous spectacle to behold. I just totally don't freaking get it. Fuck it, I refuse to participate in this. I'm not shopping for a damned thing this year.

As for me, whenever I see something I think a family member would like (if I happen to have the extra few bucks) I'll buy it and squirrel it away for Christmas. I don't think of it as "shopping" for Christmas, if I don't find anything I think is especially nice or if I don't have the spare money (often the case) I don't buy anything.

This kind of shopping obsession is not for me, that's for sure. I don't like crowds or frantic activity. I enjoy picking out presents but I can't see how going mad like that can be at all enjoyable, it's a battle.

I went to the shoprite, a local supermarket here. It was about 8:00 am, I went to get some fruit and flowers to bring to my sisters. As I was leaving and in the parking lot, a man , about 40, starts yelling, " whoever owns this car , I hope you drop dead when you eat your turkey dinner." What is wrong with people!! This just floored me. What an ass.

country. It never was totally sane, but it seems a lot of unhinged people are running around anymore in my unscientific observation. Frankly, I'm rather creeped out by some of the people I come across anymore. Not long ago a guy was staring and staring at me from his car in the shopping mall parking lot ... the look of anger when I glanced at him, like he'd like to kill me or something. Really, really creepy.

Or was the guy just nuts. I notice people don't park nicely quite often. Either in a spot basically at an angle, or against the side of the space, making the one next to it unusable. Or taking up double or even more spaces. I once saw a nice newer car parked using four spaces, and as I walked passed it I noticed it was keyed and scratched all to hell.

I wish someone would just cancel the holidays. I've felt this way for years although we still exchange gifts for Christmas. We have cut way back, but it's still a pain in the neck. I just don't know how or when to say "no more" now that there are children in the family.

Cabbage Patch Kids, Tickle-me Elmo, Furbys... now rather than focus on one thing, they take huge losses on 'doorbusters' to get the masses riled.

Ahhh, black Friday–the day when Americans abandon their principles and embark on a sometimes blood-soaked path to savings. We’d just like to remind you about an instance from 2008 that acts as a continual reminder of how poisonous Black Friday can be.

A Long Island Walmart employee was trampled by overzealous shoppers early that Friday morning, after the crowd smashed through the store’s front doors, crushing him.

Several other employees were knocked to the ground–some scrambled atop vending machines to avoid the frenzied rush. When the dust settled, 34 year old Jdimytai Damour was dead, and four shoppers were wounded–including a woman who is eight months pregnant, according to NY Daily News.

Employees inside tried to form a human chain to slow the marauding crowd of customers, but that effort failed.

When officers arrived to perform CPR on Damour, the crowd ran over top of them too, the lure of great prices overpowering any sense of compassion or decency. A co-worker of Damour’s said that he did not know if he was going to live through the madness, noting that the crowd took him down, too.

They might fight over who had won the bidding for an item, but sometimes it was just brawling over real or perceived insults.

drug store and the OTC costs were incredible. Came to ~$30 for what at one time was under $10. I just do not see how people are expected to survive in the US much longer. Then grocery store prices, the prices are outrageous. Car repairs, some outfits now want nearly $100/hr for mundane repairs, and then the marked up cost of parts. Frankly, many are F'ed in this country, and the rest, they live some kind of delusional dream in la la land USA.

I is exactly as you say, "full price is out of reach for the masses."
