Baby dolphin saved from plastic bag thanks fishermen with dance

(a reminder of of how much plastic crap is in our oceans. What are the chances that this dolphin was lucky enough to be saved?)

The Brazilian fishermen discovered the mammal of the coast of Sao Paulo struggling to escape the bag. They were able to net it and set it free, and were surprised by the thanks the creature gave in the form of a dance.

A baby dolphin whose life was in danger after getting trapped up in a plastic bag appeared to thank his rescuers by doing a little dance.

The tiny mammal was filmed by a group of fishermen thrashing about in the waters off the coast of Sao Paulo in Brazil.

As they get closer, they notice the stricken animal is inside a green shopping bag.

They use a net to scoop him up and haul him into the boat then one of the men removes the bag as the agitated calf whips its tail around.

The dolphin is then returned to the ocean near Fort Itapiu.

Because there are plenty of other innocent animals dying in our garbage.

Utterly fascinating.

The idea that we are the only beings on this planet without higher functioning brains is bollocks.

Edited to add this longer clip of the same incident;

I feel a deep connection with marine mammals. I have seen this video before, but am glad to see it again.

not bloody far away.

Neither were it's aunts, uncles, brothers and sisters.

I'm betting there were a BUNCH of its relatives within a few hundred yards.

on edit to add...and they ALL knew what was going on and what happened as soon as the baby hit the water again.

A few hours(!) on YouTube will make this clear.

Smart, social, clever, intuitive, respectful and vindictive, not to mention highly sexual.
