Can someone explain to me why saying "Happy Holidays" means that you are Satanic?

What in the world is wrong with people...SERIOUSLY.

"Happy Holidays" is inclusive-- well wishes and and joy extended to EVERYONE.

If you're Christian, Jewish, someone who doesn't practice religion, someone who practices a religion that does not celebrate Christmas, or someone who worships a totem pole--you're included in "Happy Holidays".

How can one group of people be so rankled to the point of vitriol about a greeting? How do people get so small and petty?

"Happy Holidays" acknowledges the season--and the celebrations and joy that everyone will experience during December.

It doesn't denigrate anyone or any religion--it celebrates all of us!

A person who finds a war in the words "Happy Holidays" is attempting to infuse selfish, bratty, bizarre behavior into a season that is about love, peace and giving.

Why must the rest of the world be subjected to their tired, seasonal persecution-complex meltdowns that are nothing but a whirling carousel of narcissistic temper tantrums from hell?

This is really getting old.

Happy Holidays originally started as a condensed way to say "merry Christmas and a happy new year."

Most of the outraged don't know that, but now that they see other December holidays gaining acceptance they kneejerk.

IMO, it has a lot to do with ones inability to self-reflect.

Spending all ones energy on finding fault with others helps divert attention from ones own faults.

Weak minds are historically easy prey for the demonizers. Even the word "inclusive" has been registered as code for anti-Christian and anti-white.

I don't know. What happens when someone says Merry Christmas?

"Why must the rest of the world be subjected to their tired, seasonal persecution-complex meltdowns that are nothing but a whirling carousel of narcissistic temper tantrums from hell?"

That's at least bordering on vitriolic.

in a way that appeals to all consumers.

Acceptable totems are poinsettias, penguins, santa, christmas lights (as long as they are not shaped like a pine shaped tree), deer, mistletoe and garland.

It's pretty much the way to go if your in a diverse evironment and your polite.

Andy Griffith show, Christmas 1963. Camera pulls away at the end to show giant banner across the front of the courthouse that reads: Happy Holidays.

By the way, a couple of wingnut fox viewers were in my office today. 75+ years old. It's like they can't wait to bring this shit up. "Taxes are SOOOO outrageously high under Obama!1!1!!1" to which I asked "Oh, right, which taxes were the ones he raised, I can't remember? I know that taxes on the richest people in the country are lower than they've ever been." Silence. Then they went into a rant that started with "IF I HAVE TO LISTEN TO 'HAPPY HOLIDAY' ONE MORE TIME..." And then they scrunch up their little faces and put on the ugly look, the same look my 85 year old aunt gets when she talks about the evils of 'socialized medicine'.
So I asked "Is someone saying YOU have to say Happy Holiday? Is someone trying to stop YOU from saying Merry Christmas? Do you think YOU can force everyone else to say Merry Christmas?"
"We-e-e-ll..." was all one of them could muster. I said "Life's too short to worry about things you have no control over." I kept a client and hopefully they learned something.

Diversity, acknowledging other religions and pov's, treated others who have other traditions and beliefs with respect... This is evil. If you think there's only one "right" way, it's wrong to be "accepting" of other paths. It's probably the one common denominator of Fundamentalist thinking of all stripes. I've got "the answer"- and I'm doing you a favor in forcing you to see that.

Apparently not saying "Merry Christmas" takes the christ out of christmas, you know, that christian holiday that seems eerily similar to the pagan holiday Saturnalia.
