Last Tuesday, the president and senior vice president of Third Way, a centrist think tank, published an op-ed in The Wall Street Journal lambasting Warren's plan to expand Social Security as "Exhibit A" of "populist political and economic fantasy."
Warren's response? On Wednesday, she wrote a suggestive letter to bank CEOs "encouraging" them to voluntarily disclose their donations to think tanks.

It is the normal push and pull between two ends of the Democratic big tent to decide the direction of the party.

Perhaps she believes that the compromises necessary to win the presidency would disarm her, and that may be correct, but, damn, I'd love to see her as chief executive of this country.

A diversion, a fair weather romp through the tall grass and wildflowers of populism, and then back to toeing the line for the elite, because, really we have no other place to go.
Considering that, one wonders why there is ever a plan to ever come back from the vacation?
