The question is, why are we not conserving energy, and at the same time, change the type of energy we use?

Lets switch to wind and solar only.

I will not miss the fumes and toxicity.

make obscene profits from it and lobby the big oil whores in DC to squash efforts to change the status quo. We all know this, of course, and still can't seem to change it.

as technology progresses, we will be able to have vehicles with a high enough storage capability, along with a support infrastructure to make driving electric vehicles more viable and affordable.

The first few generations will be way expensive, however like other forms of tech, it will get cheaper and cheaper, thus an affordable and viable solution.
