I can tell you that it's fairly progressive as is Houston, Austin, and San Antonio. Three of the top five fast growing cities in the US are Dallas, Austin and Houston - so the numbers are rising.

Dallas county produces no oil. It use to be that there were no oil wells in Dallas county, Dallas TV show not with standing.

But it seems to peter out east of DFW, so it makes sense that there isn't much going on in Dallas county.

There are already wells in Dallas county, just none in the Dallas city limits. I live in Southwest Dallas, this would be the place they would drill first. I don't want them here. They drilled over in Tarrant county in Arlington near by daughter and she got a royalty check for $5,000. The drilling was far enough away from her that she did not have to put up with the noise.

They drilled near my niece's house in Johnson county and she said the noise of the pumps running 24 hours a day was terrible and they moved. You also get the heavy trucks that tear up the roads and the fracking pollutes the ground water. And the thing that the gas drilling companies are denying is the earthquakes, but anybody with one bit of sense knows that the fracking is what is causing all the earthquakes.
