Did taxpayers pay for Ted Cruz to fly to Africa so he could walk out on Nelson Mandela's memorial?

Just wondering how much this stupid stunt cost the people of the USA?

Also, did anyone on his staff violate the Hatch Act by participating in a political stunt, i.e., by informing the media after the fact
... because NOONE noticed him doing it!
