After touching off a firestorm of controversy over her suggestion earlier in the week that Santa is white, Megyn Kelly took on her critics Friday, reminding them that her comments were tongue-in-cheek.
Humor is what we try to bring to this show, but thats lost on the humorless, Kelly said on The Kelly File. This would be funny if it were not so telling about our society, in particular, the knee-jerk instinct by so many to race-bait and to assume the worst in people, especially people employed by the very powerful Fox News Channel.
"We continually see St. Nick as a white man in modern-day America, Kelly continued. Should that change? Well, that debate got lost because so many couldnt get past the fact that I acknowledged, as Harris did, that the most commonly depicted image of Santa, does, in fact, have white skin.
The fact that an off-hand jest I made during a segment about whether Santa should be replaced by a penguin has now become a national firestorm says two things, Kelly said. Race is still an incredibly volatile issue in this country, and Fox News, and yours truly, are big targets for many people.

(18,184 posts)Fox News host Megyn Kelly caused controversy last night as she confidently declared that not only is Santa Claus white but Jesus Christ is too.
Despite logic dictating that a man born in the Middle East more than 2,000 years ago would at the very least have been olive-skinned - Kelly announced her asertion that Jesus was white to be fact and 'verifiable'.
While no physical descriptions of Jesus definitively exist, Kelly made her absurd statement during Wednesday's edition of The Kelly File as she discussed a Slate article that suggested a more inclusive Santa for the tens of millions of Americans who are not white.

Resist the urge to say But...
Just believe her
Stop it, stop thinking, "that's not what happened"
Just Believe her.
She must blame us for "misunderstanding" her joke. We have to wear her shame and ignorance, otherwise the earth will stop rotating.
We can do this, the fate of the planet is at stake!!!!!

(10,745 posts)And honestly, it may be true that Santa *is* typically imagined with white skin in the West. But it doesn't change the fact that she was being insensitive & dismissive towards Mrs. Harris, on that front alone.....and honestly, why did she even care in the first place? I wouldn't care if Santa was black, white, tanned, or fucking green.
And certainly, nothing excuses the Jesus comments either. It's a well established fact that he was a Semite. No question.

I believe these words were worked out by the so called "brains" at Fox Clueless. Kelly doesn't have brains enough to come up with anything. Note these words ..big targets for many people
So she is the victim? Really now...but that is what they say and do..except when they attack others. Then it is the so called " truth.."
their truth which is a lie...................
