Salvation Army Red Kettle bell-ringer assaulted for saying 'Happy Holidays'

And a Merry Friggin Holiday to all...

"PHOENIX - Some might call it the “December Debate.” Do you greet people with “Merry Christmas” or “Happy Holidays?"

An Arizona woman, who’s also a bell ringer for the Salvation Army, says she was assaulted for choosing the wrong one.

Kristina Vindiola says a woman hit her outside a Phoenix Walmart after she said "Happy Holidays."

"The lady looked at me,” said Vindiola. “I thought she was going to put money in the kettle. She came up to me and said, 'Do you believe in God?' And she says, ‘You're supposed to say Merry Christmas,' and that's when she hit me."

But it remains to be seen if W/W would want to get involved in this kind of an issue.
They could claim their recording device had a malfunction and didn't get it.

Thanks a lot, Bill O'Reilly - hope you're happy with the army of Scrooges you've created.

"Phoenix police looked at surveillance video but didn't have enough evidence to arrest the woman accused in the assault."

How does that work? If someone steps up to me on the street, away from cameras and witnesses, and beats the "happy holidays" out of my life, do I have no recourse because it'd only be my word it happened?

The flip side of not sending people to prison unless we can prove guilt beyond reasonable doubt is that if you manage to commit a crime in such a way that your guilt can't be proved then you'll get away with it unpunished.

Which sucks, but is probably better than the alternative.
