Snowden Obama

Well I guess we should all join the TEA party and demand President Obama be impeached. He says the NSA has protected us and prevented at least fifty attacks. But to read the comments of so many here he must be lying and, in fact, he is undermining our constitutional freedoms.

I guess I should come to my senses and realize the real hero is a man who promised not to reveal national secrets but did exactly that and fled first to China and then to Russia, two countries that certainly would never do such things.

And if there is a successful terrorist attack on the US because some were so concerned about their phone privacy...well that is the price we have to pay ..

Ya sure!

I believe in the President and believe that in times like these..with nuclear, biological and chemical weapons around....that spying is necessary.

It's not easy to disagree with those you find allegiance with but I do...If the NSA exceeded its bounds then Snowden could have make this known quietly and without telling the entire world...but he did. Snowden is a criminal and should be brought to justice..

2. Others, before Snowden, tried to "make this known quietly" and their lives were ruined.

Look it up.

Snowden did us all a big favor, and I hope the revelations keep on coming. This country is quickly turning into a fascist police state, and if we don't do something to stop it, we have only ourselves to blame.

Perhaps you could be slightly more precise than "Look it up".

"Honestly, I think we should just trust our president in every decision he makes and should just support that, you know, and be faithful in what happens."

It really IS possible to criticize Obama's administration and its surveillance apparatus from the left without identifying with the Tea Party. Seriously.

I, and others here, are not going to be identified with teabaggers simply because we stand up for our right to privacy. You go ahead with that, and you won't last long here.

We're not going to throw the baby out with the bathwater. If the teabaggers agree with us on this issue, or vice versa, that's something we at least agree on. NO president, NO executive branch, has the right to take away our privacy, whether he's a Democrat or a Republican, and if we don't fight for those rights, simply because he's "one of ours," we are no better than those who would take those rights away from us.

I believe Snowden did a great thing. I also believe that the NSA is undermining our constitutional freedoms and if Obama says different, well he's not the first President to lie.

13. Snowden is a fucking traitor

Snowden took a job specifically to steal information. He didn't "stumble across" that information, he actively searched for it. And then he ran to China, where he proceeded to give them access to that information. After that, he went to Russia and did the same.

Just because he's going against the evil, nasty, supersecret NSA doesn't excuse those facts. He violated the laws dealing with classified information and freely gave them to foreign powers.

"I am not here to hide from justice." -Edward Snowden from his undisclosed location in Hong Kong just before he ran to Russia.
