It's just a time to get together with family members and give the kids in the family gifts. The adults used to draw names, but we kept the limit at $25, and since we're all a bunch of weirdos who are hard to buy for, we said, "Y'know, we're all adults. If we want something that costs up to $25, we'll get it for ourselves." Xmas is always held at my sister and bro-in-law's house, and they and a daughter (married with her own family) are fairly religious so I've actually been to a church service the last couple of years. I consider myself Christian but really dislike organized religion, but I don't mind sitting through a Xmas program. Then we stuff ourselves.
