Now where does the English language come from? Germany, France, Latin, Greek... surely there are more influences... English is a mongrel language anyway... all loan words from some other language.... so English Only eh? Non, nein, nyet.. etc, etc.

Mexican parents.

I`m living in California and I had a co-worker once
ask me `Why Mexicans won`t assimilate?`
I responded with a question of an unknown fact
`What language is the Constitution of California written in?`
Of course she responded with English. But I then told her that
it was written in Spanish as well, because English and Spanish
were both the official language of California when the
constitution was written.
I then asked her `Is that the assimilation she was
referring to?`
She walked out of my office without answering my question.

A right wing xenophobic acquaintance was bitching one day about the "librul Hollywood crowd." I said, geez, you don't like immigrants or anything foreign, but movies are one thing America does better than anyone in the world and your whining about that! What do you conservatives like?
Oh yeah, freedom....
