On the serious side -

Anyone who has done any kind of reading on the C.I.A. might agree that the most likely explanation for the Benghazi incident was there was a C.I.A. operation at the consulate (a black operation) recruiting Al Queda militia members to fight with the rebels in Syria. Something went horribly wrong, and we will likely never know exactly what. The republicans like McCain raising hell over this know this better than anyone, they will use it to pander to their base but know damn well their hands aree as bloody as anyones, thus, as I expected, nothing will ever really come of it.

They don't employ journalists or investigative reporters. They don't do research. They just have pretty faces and camera operators and they repeat whatever they are told. It is much cheaper than actually doing news reporting.

On top of that, the companies that control the news are tightly connected with the companies that prosper from all this war mongering, so they certainly have no incentive to draw any attention to any of this.
