Phil Robertson’s First Amendment rights have not, repeat NOT been violated.

http://bluntandcranky.wordpress.com/2013/12/19/phil-robertsons-first-amendment-rights-have-not-repeat-not-been-violated/

Snips:
"The Government has said f***-all about Duck Boy’s anti-gay, anti-black, anti-all-kinds-of-people rants. The Government does not give a single turd from a constipated field mouse’s ass about what Phil said. The Government has done nothing at all.

No, it is a private business that has opened a can of HR Whoop-Ass on the fake old fart. It is the free market in action – A&E sees a potential threat to profitability in Robertson’s idiot statements, and is seeking to retain those profits by mitigating risk. A standard, legal, ethical, and smart business move.

It is not the eeeeevil Obaminator and his Zombie UN Free Speechbots who have told a moronic hunk of trash with cash to shut his face. It is that most beloved of all Right-Wing Institutions who have told him to STFU: an employer. "

Free speech means you can stand on a street corner and yell anything you want. It doesn't mean somebody else has to give you a microphone and a PA system.

But in teahadist world, it has to be Obama's fault, just like everything else they don't like, which of course is everything.

It may be that some of their confusion is that Barack word, but whatever. I really think these guys need to get a grip on what the God thing entails.

They are assigning supernatural powers to Obama that only can belong to their God. Which breaks the First Commandment:

#1: Thou shalt have none other gods before me. ~ KJV

Going further, they forgot this admonishment from God in their greed:

#8: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thine ox, nor thine ass, nor any of thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates; that thy manservant and thy maidservant may rest as well as thou. ~ KJV

Sounds like a workers' rights kind of God who wants people to get a day off. Just sayin'

And the First Commandment is not the First Amendment. I don't think they know the source material for either of those lists,

Freedom of speech comes with consequences. When someone says something stupid and bigoted, people around them and the people they work for have the constitutional right to disassociate themselves with those people. Until Phil Robertson is being carted off to jail for his ignorant comments, his rights are still very much intact. It's clear that most of you have PHDs in Bigotry, but you don't know a darn thing about constitutional law.

FREE MARKET IN ACTION.

FREE MARKET IN ACTION.

Yes, and sorry for the volume. As far as I know the show may survive just fine.

It's A&E's funeral.

against all the screwy anti-gay stuff I heard everywhere. Seriously, just one mother fucker would have been great.

So THAT part's a big deal. I want LGBTQ kids to see pushback and consequences in action, and I don't give a crap about what that little duck pricks career plans were.

Kids like this young woman:

free speech from tighty-righties is gonna get a whole lot more free speech right back.

Edited: to not seem so much like I'm yelling at you.

And that, to me is no big deal-they are in business, and the essence of business is risk. So, to me, it is normal business for them and I don't much give a shit.

For American culture and people, it is a big fucking deal indeed. Since the 60's, I have watched the cultural pendulum swing to and fro, and this is a big swing in the proper direction.

Again, sorry about the misunderstanding.

You can't say whatever the hell you want to say at your employer. You'll get fired if you call your boss a fucking jackass or say something stupid about race and gays. The employer has every right to fire you if they want.

Get over it, 'baggers.
