Right now at the bottom of the screen on CNN, it says "Obama About To Hold Rare News Conference"
Really, CNN? Rare? His last news conference was on November 14th, and before that, October 8. This is his 28th total news conference! 28th!!
And another little thing that bothers me...the media should refer to him as PRESIDENT Obama, not just "Obama" as if he is your damn teammate! Even Fox refers to him as "President" Obama on their screen.

(966 posts)I think President Obama has held more news conferences in his first term than Pres. Bush's 2 terms combined.

It's usually a clear sign nothing they have to say is worth a listen.

(25,242 posts)in general really don't like him. Evidence of that can be found if you follow the WhiteHousePressCorps twitter account. Just look at some of their tweets and how they disrespect him.
I just don't understand this - because as mentioned in this thread - President Obama has held more press conferences and is more candid with them than G.W.Bush ever was. Bush couldn't put a sentence together and he was cocky in many of his answers - and one could clearly see that he was not up to the task. He couldn't talk his way out of a paper bag - IMHO.
President Obama doesn't shy away from hard questions. Like I said above he is very candid and he speaks at a level that is understandable to most Americans. He is up on all the latest social issues. He is up on whats going on in America in general and the world as a whole (as he should be). He's able to relate to most people because in many ways - he's shared some of their burdens as he grew up, entered school and started his career. He's a family man - through and through. He understands people.
Why the White House Press Corps resents him is beyond me.

(47,953 posts)And you know what I mean. I suspect most of the WH press corps are better off financially than most Americans and resent that they didn't get a tax cut from Rmoney.
