How's everyone making out under the areas affected?
I'm in Western New York where we have temperatures at 31 degrees with a NE wind at 12 mph and 0.10" ice accumulation.
Franklin and Lewis counties were declared States of Emergency several hours ago by state officals at the Governor's Office.
How about your location?

(26,251 posts)I've been monitoring the 911 reports - lots of trees and wires down, mostly in the more rural areas, and pockets of power outages but not nearly as bad as I feared. However, we're not through this, yet. I see one more batch of purple headed our way on the weather map. Fingers crossed I'll still have power at sunlight, and everyone else will be able to be reconnected very soon.

More than 14,000 customers in Kingston and other parts of eastern Ontario were hit by outages, according to the website of Ontario's Hydro One. Those numbers are likely to rise as the storm continues through the overnight. For more information on outages, visit HydroOne.ca.

I saw weather coming, so plowed and shoveled everything I could Saturday afternoon, brought in the vehicle batteries (I have inverters so can use them for a short spell of 110 hydro) - fueled up and checked out my generator just after midnight.
I'm about as ready as I can be

(29,671 posts)Roads were ok as of 8pm but secondary surfaces weren't so hot. I've warmed up my car a couple of times today and had to use some elbow grease to scrape all the ice-a decent layer both times all over the vehicle.
Snow is coming and the cancellations are coming in en masse.

(10,462 posts)Christina Ricci is super creepy, there is a "key party" that seems to end in disappointment for everyone involved and baby Frodo gets electrocuted at the end. The whole thing is kind of a bummer.

(39,961 posts)but the weather is pretty crappy here. It has been raining non-stop for about 7 hours, and we lost power a couple of times. *BAD* lightning.
Stay safe, everyone!
