Sick sailor tells of metallic-tasting, radioactive snow from Fukushima disaster on USS Ronald Reagan

Navy sailor Lindsay Cooper knew something was wrong when billows of metallic-tasting snow began drifting over USS Ronald Reagan.

“I was standing on the flight deck, and we felt this warm gust of air, and, suddenly, it was snowing,” Cooper recalled of the day in March 2011 when she and scores of crewmates watched a sudden storm blow toward them from the tsunami-torn coast of Fukushima, Japan.

The tall 24-year-old with a winning smile didn’t know it then, but the snow was caused by the freezing Pacific air mixing with a plume of radioactive steam from the city’s shattered nuclear reactor.

Now, nearly three years after their deployment on a humanitarian mission to Japan’s ravaged coast, Cooper and scores of her fellow crew members on the aircraft carrier and a half-dozen other support ships are battling cancers, thyroid disease, uterine bleeding and other ailments.

The brass who sent these sailors in harm's way had no regard for their well being.
They were considered expendable. And when the sailors stricken with debilitating
radiation related ilnesses go to the Navy or in a few years to the VA all they will
get is a hassle and denial that their service had anything to do with it.

that did not make MSM, I think I read the lawsuit had been "denied" whatever that means.

Heartening to see this is a MSM story.

It was denied on jurisdiction grounds, they're adjusting it and refiling.

I do not understand why the medicos could not diagnose radiation poisoning,
nor why the ship did not have testing or dose meters at hand
since the ship is nuclear powered.
Makes no sense to me.

They're going to be crippled or dead if not treated fast. If they weren't told of the danger, there's going to be hell to pay.

Korea and Guam all refused them port?!

Much of the crew were suffering horrible diarrhea for the 2 1/2 months they were left floating!

A crime.

the NY Post is a tabloid, and NOT a reliable news source. I'm sorry, but it just isn't.
