I honestly thought Duck Dynasty was a Disney cartoon.

I haven't had cable TV in more than 20 years, nor do I keep up with the latest tabloid gossip when I go to the grocery store. So imagine my crushing disappointment when I found out that the "Duck Dynasty" I'd been hearing so much about at work was actually just another dumb "reality" show about the idiotic escapades of retrograde pseudohillbillies and NOT a new show featuring the new adventures of these guys:

I was all prepared to wait around and get the new show on DVD, as "Duck Tales" was GREAT family entertainment.

Honestly, people, KILL your cable, if you haven't already. I've never missed it the entire time I haven't had it. There are just too many other entertainment options available now: Netflix, Hulu+, Redbox, Roku, Internet TV, etc., to even think about suffering through any of that shit anymore. So do yourself a huge favor in 2014 and just get rid of it. Buy yourself a new computer with the money you save.

never clicked through.

As to cutting the cable, did that 20 years ago. The only vote I have left is with my dollars and I wield that vote to the best of my ability.

We spend a lot of $$$ on Direct TV each month. The rest of my family loves the movies, reality shows, singing shows, etc.. I watch sports and occasional movies. In fact in fall I pay a premium to have all the NFL games every Sunday so I can watch my beloved Green Bay Packers back in Wisconsin. The rest of the time I will catch snippets of programs if someone else is watching, but if a TV is on I'm more likely to find a room without one (this leaves me reading in the dining room quite frequently!).

The sad part is that folks will get up in arms about Duck Dynasty but don't have a clue about the budget the house just passed, etc. It is mind-numbing.

I have never watched it and have never even been tempted to do so.

Sad to say I live in an area where internet is narrow band (trying to watch a video on here is painful) there is no way to get anything on a TV with an antenna... So suffer with seriously overpriced direct tv in order to have a smidgeon of entertainment..
