Let's lighten up, just for a week or two. I found it amusing. I don't go to the Lounge as often as I should, for my heart and soul. Let's let some of the fun out of it's Lounge cage for just for a bit. We're going to be gearing up for the 2014 election season soon, so let's kick back for a few weeks. Congress is done doing nothing until they start back to doing nothing in the new year, so really, cats are more fun. Let's have fun like it's the end of the year before putting our fighting hats back on.

The only complaint I have is every time I see AreGritsGroceries is that I realize I desperately want grits and have forgotten to buy any. Nom, Nom, Nom the grits. I am glad to be gone from the south, but man, I love the grits. Why, oh, why does my mind go blank when I'm at the store?

but I think we should take off the next two weeks or so and just have fun. 2014 is coming and GOTV and the inevitable infighting and the ongoing NSA/Snowdenpalooza. So, I say, bring on the cats and the dogs and even the iguana's if they can be amusing.

That works - 9 ot of 10 times indeed - but sometimes the cat just do not want to do it - and have no interest in a box....

And if they KNOW you are in a hurry to get the cat under control - they do the opposite of what you want them to do - and is fast on their feet - even if they have been sleeping for days and been calm as a clam...

To increase the chances of cat-catching, you should probably announce loudly and repeatedly that there better not be any cats going anywhere near this box.

Put a priceless Ming Vase on top of it too, just to make sure.

Forbidding something to a cat is just an invitation to "assert its independence." The Ming vase is the whipped cream on the sundae to the cat.

That would do the trick - they often, or mostly do the opposite of what you want them to do - in that way they tend to be like a 4 year old who have an attitude

I do not own any Ming Vase to put on the top - but I do have a few tricks in my sleeve - to catch a cat, who have no interest to do as you want them to do.. After all - we are the smarter spieces aren't we ?

I haven't seen you post in a while but you've got a great post count and your English is getting better and better. Such an unnecessarily hard language we have.

Just wanted to say it's nice to see you posting and give you congratulations on getting better at English than I ever will with a second language.

Hello Tavalon - I have been here -but sometimes it is nothing for me to comment - many do the job better - or it is little to "american" for me to comment on - but even if I do not comment - I do read..

It is nice to read that my english is getting better - I do hope it is starting to improve over what I had - well it is like my english teatches said at high school - "practice, practice and then some practice, and you should se your english is starting to improve" And I have been used the language more than I have been doing for a long time - at least my written language have been improved - I suspect my spoken language still is not perfect - I do have a rather clear accent in my english...

The language is the result of tree different languages who have given a lot of their language into english you know - anglo-saxon - then a lot of Latin - and then - in the end even some normandie-french to boot - specially after the last onslaught from Normandie it is no way english could have been an easy language

Nice to know - that my english is getting better - I do have had a lot of practice here on DU to get the english better... But I do also use the "spelling check" often - so the worst is going away before submission..

Everyone can be better with an second language - as my teacher said to me - there I was fighting with english - "practice, practice and practice some more she said".. But english is one of the largest languages out there - so no need to learn a second language I guess..

I need to take a cat to the vet. I place the cat carrier in a convenient place, with the door open, and a blanket inside. And a few cats always need to go in and check it out. Just never the one I want in there.

Maybe I need to make a cardboard fake front for the carrier?

As a matter of fact, when someone says, "That's as hard as herding cats!" I tell them that herding cats is one of the simplest things in the world to do, and if they can't figure it out, they are the ones who have a problem!
Simply open a can of cat food, tuna, sardines, or such, and well any cat that has ever owned me, has been there when the can opener goes "click."
