Christmas Rants and Raves

I already offend enough of my relatives with politics so I can't really bitch about them to them or on Facebook so I have to come here.

First... RANT. I knew... I KNEW! there was going to be a Duck Dynasty bitch session that was going to develop into complaining about gays. We have holidays out in the country at sister and brother-in-law's house, and they're pretty conservatively religious... or religiously conservative... or both. Nephew-in-law is a loud-mouth know-it-all about everything (and is usually wrong), and he kicked it off.

Second... RAVE. We needed to get some extra chairs and a long folding table out of brother-in-law's shop. I was heading out to do it myself because the table isn't that big and BIL joined me - right when the Duck Dynasty stuff started. I told him he didn't need to help, but he insisted. On the walk out, he asked me if I had never noticed over the years that he loves to do errands because it gets him away from the noise and the political discussions. I laughed at that. By the time we got in that talk was winding down. Although he doesn't really like homosexuals, democrats, etc. I think he's developed the mindset that while he wants everyone to be welcome, he's really looking forward to the end of the day when everyone is gone, and he can watch his cowboy movies (which he had settled into by the time I took my mom back to her apartment).

Third... RANT. The DD discussion was winding down with BIL's step-dad just really complaining bitterly (I mean, just you could hear it in his voice) about, "damn fairies." He's some sort of minister, and I've complained about him before in that he tries to draw me into political arguments at these gatherings. At Thanksgiving, he tried to get me into one on Obamacare, but I shut him down pretty fast by letting him know that even the politicians who are against it are for it when it comes to handing out oversized checks to various medical facilities for photo-ops in their districts like two republican ones.

Fourth... RAVE. That was pretty much it for the rest of the time there. We actually had some snow that was rapidly melting due to the temperature but still enough to go for sleigh rides pulled by my nephew's jeep in some nearby fields. It kept me out of the house and away from, "Pastor Damn Fairies," and we had a lot of fun.

Hope everyone else had a good day.

People that are nostalgic for any time when women and minorities were treated so badly are a problem.

my daughter's house. One of the grandsons started on politics and we told him - no way.
